The Lansing Police Department will be testing for the position of full-time 9-1-1 Telecommunicator for police, fire, EMS and after hours public works.The Village of Lansing is located on the Illinois/Indiana state line about 25 minutes south of Chicago. The village currently has over 28,000 residents with a large business community. The Lansing 9-1-1 Center was recently remodeled and has state-of-the-art equipment including: - Motorola Centracom Gold touch screen radios
- Plant Visar touch screen phone controls
- HTE CAD V System
- Cellular 9-1-1- mapping
- Digital recording equipment
- Fully ergonomical workstations featuring their own personal environmental controls
- Starting pay is $32,300 and after completion of 1 year increases to $40,937.

Requirements: - Must pass a thorough background investigation
- Must pass a polygraph, psychological and physical exam
- Be of good moral character
- Obtain/possess a valid driver's license
- Must establish residency within village by eighteen (18) months of employment
- Be 18 years old at time of testing
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Able to work shift work, weekends, holidays, extended hours
- Must be a team player with good public relations skills
- Preferred consideration will be given to those with dispatch experience
- There will be a mandatory orientation before the test
