It’s true that recycling, while good for the
environment, can be a bit boring. Well, we spiced it up a bit. For four weeks, we want you to bring in your empty cans four our Aluminum Can Contest! The fun part is we will be keeping track, boys vs. girls. Whichever gender brings in the most cans wins a special prize! Make sure you sign up when you drop off your first batch of cans in order to be included! October 2-28

Think you have an artistic eye? Let’s find out. Sign up for the photography contest and we’ll give you a disposable camera to take pictures of anything you consider art. Then we will post the best pictures for public voting. The winner gets a pretty sweet prize. Sign up between Sept. 18th and Sept. 30th--parental permission slip required. Limited to first 20 participants. Pictures can be taken between Oct. 2 and Oct. 16th. Ask for more details at the Teen Desk!

What that means is that I work to locate programs and services that will assist senior citizens in remaining independently in their own homes for as long as possible. In the course of my career, I have found that many of our seniors have fallen between the cracks with all the changes to Medicare and various other programs. My goal is to reach out to seniors and empower them to take a more active and educated role in decisions that will effect their lives.
