Check under the couch, in the car, under the bed and in the back of your closets for overdue books! Note: If your account has been sent to the collection agency, you are still responsible for collection agency fees. You must return library materials to have the fines waived. Sign-up now for...the 23rd annual Chicago Tribune Printers Row Book Fair Bus Trip! The Midwest's largest free outdoor literary event features 150 new, used and antiquarian booksellers and more than 100 captivating programs including author readings, panel discussions, cooking demonstrations and children’s activities. For one weekend, the historic Printers Row neighborhood is transformed into a festival for booklovers of all ages and interests. Sunday, June 4, 2006 at Printers Row, Chicago, Illinois from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Cost $20.00 per person (cash only) Please make your prepaid reservation at the Lansing Public Library Adult Services Desk beginning April 17, 2006. No refunds unless we cancel the trip, this trip is limited to 48 persons and lunch is on your own. The Lansing good neighbor day parade kicks off May 6th at 2:00 p.m. Once again it will start on Wentworth Avenue, travel South to Ridge Road, West to Torrence then North to 178th Street. It will end at Lan-Oak Park where refreshments will be served.

On May 13th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. the Abundant Love Church will be hosting a free luncheon to honor single mothers. This event is free to all and will be held at Nathan Hale Elementary School located at 19055 Burnham Avenue. Activities to include lunch, comedy, a fashion show and more. Children ages 3-12 are welcome. Reservations are required, please contact Davette Chatman by May 6th at (773) 253-2107.
